Asklepieion

Asklepieion explores how material objects can support emotional well-being within therapeutic environments.

Developed through research into virtual reality therapy and mental health stigma, the project examines the relationship between comfort, touch, and psychological security. It considers how physical objects may provide reassurance during moments of vulnerability and uncertainty.

The work consists of a series of soft wearable forms that can be carried throughout daily life and reconfigured within a therapeutic setting. Detached from the body and attached to a chair, the objects shift between personal accessory and environmental support.

Filled with soft padding and designed to wrap, cushion, and embrace, the forms encourage tactile interaction. Their adaptable structure allows them to function across different contexts while maintaining a consistent sense of familiarity and comfort.

The project considers how material experiences of softness, warmth, and physical support may contribute to feelings of safety, care, and emotional connection.
